Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਰਾਮ ॥

हरि जपे हरि मंदरु साजिआ संत भगत गुण गावहि राम ॥

Har Japae Har Mandhar Sajia Santh Bhagath Gun Gavehi Ram ||

Meditating on the Lord, the Lord*s Temple has been built; the Saints and devotees sing the Lord*s Glorious Praises.

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਪਾਪ ਤਜਾਵਹਿ ਰਾਮ ॥

सिमरि सिमरि सुआमी प्रभु अपना सगले पाप तजावहि राम ॥

Simar Simar Suamee Prabh Apana Sagalae Pap Thajavehi Ram ||

Meditating, meditating in remembrance of God, their Lord and Master, they discard and renounce all their sins.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

हरि गुण गाइ परम पदु पाइआ प्रभ की ऊतम बाणी ॥

Har Gun Gae Param Padh Paeia Prabh Kee Ootham Banee ||

Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the supreme status is obtained. The Word of God*s Bani is sublime and exalted.

ਸਹਜ ਕਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਕਥੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥

सहज कथा प्रभ की अति मीठी कथी अकथ कहाणी ॥

Sehaj Kathha Prabh Kee Ath Meethee Kathhee Akathh Kehanee ||

God*s Sermon is so very sweet. It brings celestial peace. It is to speak the Unspoken Speech.

ਭਲਾ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਪਲੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਰਖਾਈ ॥

भला संजोगु मूरतु पलु साचा अबिचल नीव रखाई ॥

Bhala Sanjog Moorath Pal Sacha Abichal Neev Rakhaee ||

The time and the moment were auspicious, blessed and true, when the eternal foundation of this Temple was placed.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥

जन नानक प्रभ भए दइआला सरब कला बणि आई ॥१॥

Jan Naanak Prabh Bheae Dhaeiala Sarab Kala Ban Aee ||1||

O servant Nanak, God has been kind and compassionate; with all His powers, He has blessed me. ||1||

ਆਨੰਦਾ ਵਜਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

आनंदा वजहि नित वाजे पारब्रहमु मनि वूठा राम ॥

Anandha Vajehi Nith Vajae Parabreham Man Vootha Ram ||

The sounds of ecstasy vibrate through me continuously. I have enshrined the Supreme Lord within my mind.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਝੂਠਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

गुरमुखे सचु करणी सारी बिनसे भ्रम भै झूठा राम ॥

Guramukhae Sach Karanee Saree Binasae Bhram Bhai Jhootha Ram ||

As Gurmukh, my lifestyle is excellent and true; my false hopes and doubts are dispelled.

ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥

अनहद बाणी गुरमुखि वखाणी जसु सुणि सुणि मनु तनु हरिआ ॥

Anehadh Banee Guramukh Vakhanee Jas Sun Sun Man Than Haria ||

The Gurmukh chants the Bani of the unstruck melody; hearing it, listening to it, my mind and body are rejuvenated.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਬਣਿ ਆਏ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥

सरब सुखा तिस ही बणि आए जो प्रभि अपना करिआ ॥

Sarab Sukha This Hee Ban Aeae Jo Prabh Apana Karia ||

All pleasures are obtained, by that one whom God makes His Own.

ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

घर महि नव निधि भरे भंडारा राम नामि रंगु लागा ॥

Ghar Mehi Nav Nidhh Bharae Bhanddara Ram Nam Rang Laga ||

Within the home of the heart are the nine treasures, filled to overflowing. He has fallen in love with the Lord*s Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੨॥

नानक जन प्रभु कदे न विसरै पूरन जा के भागा ॥२॥

Naanak Jan Prabh Kadhae N Visarai Pooran Ja Kae Bhaga ||2||

Servant Nanak shall never forget God; his destiny is perfectly fulfilled. ||2||

ਛਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਕੀਨ੍‍ੀ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਪਤਿ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

छाइआ प्रभि छत्रपति कीन्‍ी सगली तपति बिनासी राम ॥

Shhaeia Prabh Shhathrapath Keenhee Sagalee Thapath Binasee Ram ||

God, the King, has given me shade under His canopy, and the fire of desire has been totally extinguished.

ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਕਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਢਾਠਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

दूख पाप का डेरा ढाठा कारजु आइआ रासी राम ॥

Dhookh Pap Ka Ddaera Dtatha Karaj Aeia Rasee Ram ||

The home of sorrow and sin has been demolished, and all affairs have been resolved.

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ਮਿਟੀ ਬਲਾਇਆ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਫਲਿਆ ॥

हरि प्रभि फुरमाइआ मिटी बलाइआ साचु धरमु पुंनु फलिआ ॥

Har Prabh Furamaeia Mittee Balaeia Sach Dhharam Punn Falia ||

When the Lord God so commands, misfortune is averted; true righteousness, Dharma and charity flourish.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਵਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਖਲਿਆ ॥

सो प्रभु अपुना सदा धिआईऐ सोवत बैसत खलिआ ॥

So Prabh Apuna Sadha Dhhiaeeai Sovath Baisath Khalia ||

Meditate forever on your God, when you sleep and sit and stand.

ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਈ ॥

गुण निधान सुख सागर सुआमी जलि थलि महीअलि सोई ॥

Gun Nidhhan Sukh Sagar Suamee Jal Thhal Meheeal Soee ||

The Lord and Master is the treasure of virtue, the ocean of peace; He pervades the water, the land and the sky.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥

जन नानक प्रभ की सरणाई तिसु बिनु अवरु न कोई ॥३॥

Jan Naanak Prabh Kee Saranaee This Bin Avar N Koee ||3||

Servant Nanak has entered God*s Sanctuary; there is no other than Him. ||3||

ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਬਨੁ ਤਾਲੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

मेरा घरु बनिआ बनु तालु बनिआ प्रभ परसे हरि राइआ राम ॥

Maera Ghar Bania Ban Thal Bania Prabh Parasae Har Raeia Ram ||

My home is made, the garden and pool are made, and my Sovereign Lord God has met me.

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਰਸੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

मेरा मनु सोहिआ मीत साजन सरसे गुण मंगल हरि गाइआ राम ॥

Maera Man Sohia Meeth Sajan Sarasae Gun Mangal Har Gaeia Ram ||

My mind is adorned, and my friends rejoice; I sing the songs of joy, and the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਗਲ ਇਛਾ ਪਾਈਆ ॥

गुण गाइ प्रभू धिआइ साचा सगल इछा पाईआ ॥

Gun Gae Prabhoo Dhhiae Sacha Sagal Eishha Paeea ||

Singing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord God, all desires are fulfilled.

ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀਆ ਵਾਧਾਈਆ ॥

गुर चरण लागे सदा जागे मनि वजीआ वाधाईआ ॥

Gur Charan Lagae Sadha Jagae Man Vajeea Vadhhaeea ||

Those who are attach31680ed to the Guru*s Feet are always awake and aware; His Praises resound and resonate through their minds.

ਕਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥

करी नदरि सुआमी सुखह गामी हलतु पलतु सवारिआ ॥

Karee Nadhar Suamee Sukheh Gamee Halath Palath Savaria ||

My Lord and Master, the bringer of peace, has blessed me with His Grace; He has arranged this world, and the world hereafter for me.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੭॥

बिनवंति नानक नित नामु जपीऐ जीउ पिंडु जिनि धारिआ ॥४॥४॥७॥

Binavanth Naanak Nith Nam Japeeai Jeeo Pindd Jin Dhharia ||4||4||7||

Prays Nanak, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord forever; He is the Support of the body and soul. ||4||4||7||
